TENNIS BLAST - FOR TEENS & ADULTS
- The Tennis Blast DVD and
manual have been made for
teachers and school teachers to
use as a reference to teach
school students of all ages and
abilities the athletic skills to
play tennis and many other ball
sports in large groups of up to
24 players per teacher.
- This large group situation
promotes teamwork and bonding.
- Step 1:
of Tennis Blast 4 schools is
learning the basic rules and
definitions of tennis whilst
doing warm ups, tennis aerobics
and the basic movements used to
move to and from the ball when
playing tennis.
- Step 2:
is ball skills. This is followed
by a variety of self practice
exercises combining movement,
throwing and catching the ball.
- Step 3:
is learning to use the racquet
to strike the ball. This is
followed by a variety of self
practice exercises combing
movement and using the racquet
to strike the ball.
- Step 4:
is learning the moves to hit the
basic shots of tennis;
Forehands, Backhands, Serves,
Volleys and Smashes. This is
followed by shadow practice and
then a variety of self practice
exercises hitting shots with the
ball.
- Step 5: is to play some fun games
using the shots of the day.
- One of the most exciting
parts of the Tennis Blast 4
schools Program is “Tennis
Dance,” the various tennis
movements combined with the
shots done to popular high
energy music tracks.
- The best thing about Tennis
Blast when used to train large
school groups is that the cost
per student can be kept low
while still giving every student
high quality instruction and
lots of action y throughout the
session. There are only short
rests, so all students enjoy a
large amount of exercise
reducing obesity.
- Every movement in Tennis has
been broken down so that
students of any ability can
follow the step by step
instructions. Every student will
have fun as they progress from
the basic movements and balance
skills, then eye hand ball
exercises while in motion and
the finally the challenge of
hitting the ball with the
racquet with accuracy, power and
consistency in all situations.
